The Hunger Games The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes 2023-CRM
"The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes" is a prequel to the original "Hunger Games" trilogy, written by Suzanne Collins. It is set 64 years before the events of the first book and focuses on a young Coriolanus Snow, who later becomes the tyrannical President Snow
The story follows Snow, a privileged and ambitious teenager who is chosen to be a mentor in the 10th annual Hunger Games. His assigned tribute is a girl from District 12 named Lucy Gray Baird, a talented singer and performer who quickly becomes a fan favorite.
As the Hunger Games progress, Snow becomes more and more infatuated with Lucy Gray, but he also starts to question the morality of the Games and the Capitol's control over the districts. He becomes involved in a plot to help Lucy Gray escape and starts to see the Games and the Capitol in a new light.
However, as the rebellion in the districts gains momentum, Snow's loyalty to the Capitol and his ambition to rise in the ranks of the government begin to outweigh his feelings for Lucy Gray. He is forced to make difficult decisions that will have far-reaching consequences, not only for himself but for the entire nation of Panem.
In the end, Snow's descent into tyranny is foreshadowed as he embraces the brutal tactics and oppressive policies that will characterize his rule as President Snow in the years to come.
